To stop you from making any application faults, take the time to read any relevant information and take the time to understand the difference between natural and synthetic paints.
By simply taking the time to understand them, you can build a successful business based on using these products and save the environment at the same time. Here’s our top tips from the experts.
- Natural paints are made from natural raw materials and are not acrylics, so don’t expect them to behave like an acrylic.
- If the paint bucket has been left open and the edges have dried, use a sieve or a stocking to strain the paint.
- Read the data sheet and any additional information.
- Use a fine nap natural roller and a natural bristle brush for a better finish.
- If using the wall and ceiling paint roller the next day seal it with glad wrap.
- Back rolling when paint is wet will remove some of the paint. DO NOT back roll.
- Don’t cut corners with drying time. Wait till the next day to apply the second coat.
- Follow the recommended number of coats and coverage rates. Do not stretch the coverage otherwise the paint will not cover as it should.
- If you have a problem, seek advice early in the project. Blaming the paint or others does not help.
- Make sure your clients understand the limitations and advantages of the product before you commence.
- Generally the paints are thicker so read the labels before diluting. If it says don’t dilute- then don’t dilute!
